The Gimlet is a classic sour cocktail served in a traditional a coup glass which is similar in shape to a espresso martini glass but smaller with a shorter stem. Because this cocktail is classified as a gin sour you could skip the simple syrup but if you like a more balanced drink then you will care about using the simple syrup to keep the of sour lime in check. Add a dash of Campari for colour.
Ingredients:
- 45 ml of good quality gin (we used Beefeater)
- 30ml Lime juice
- 15ml Bitter Orange Simple Syrup
- 15 ml Marmalade Simple Syrup
- 10 ml Campari
- Orange
- Ice
Instructions:
- Fill cocktail shaker with crushed ice.
- Add Gin, Juice, Syrup and Campari
- Shake well until cold then strain into a chilled coup glass.
- Garnish with orange peel
- Serve and enjoy!
Option: To strong- add a splash of soda water and orange slices to the drink.
