Bitter is a word in the cocktail vocabulary associated with Campari, Aperol and Negroni cocktails. The traditional Negroni has a huge fan base and rightly so but we are of the mind that there is some wiggle room to push the boundaries of this iconic drink which takes it towards a little less bitter and more body.
Italian Spritz is a drink for the free spirited who are open to mixing up a classic Italian cocktail with a sense of adventure. This recipe is a playful take on a bitter aperitif. Still bright orange, bold and bittersweet. Blending bitter ingredients to create a delicious hybrid. Saluti!
Ingredients
- 50ml Campari
- 50ml Banks Italian Spritz
- 25ml Gin
- 25ml Sparkling Pellegrino Mineral Water
- 5ml (1tsp) Bitter Orange Simple Syrup
- Orange
- Ice
Instructions:
- Half fill gin balloon (Copa glass) with ice
- Add liquid ingredients
- Garnish with orange slice or peel
