A floral and citrus lavender cocktail made with Chartreuse, a delicious French herbal liqueur. Now I am not generally into featuring liqueurs as the main spirit in our cocktail creations; however, I duly acknowledge their place as an important flavour component in many classic cocktails.
From chocolate, coffee and crème liqueurs to floral, herbal and nutty liqueurs these flavours are typically sweet and can be easily substituted with everyday pantry staples. On this occasion nothing in my kitchen cupboards can replace the 130 herbs and botanicals found in the bottle of Chartreuse I am holding right now which makes this mixer a winner and the best spirit to create a perfect lavender sour. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did!
