The lemon drop is one of the best vodka martinis and a highlight of modern cocktail menus. Created by San Francisco bartender Norman Jay Hobday in the 1970s, it became so popular that it inspired a number of ready-to-drink variations. However, the recipe is very easy and there’s no need for a pre-mix—the fresh taste is far better than any bottled lemon drop can offer. This is a vodka cocktail which is made fresh shaken and served in an ice cold martini glass or red wine glass.
