Marmalade Mocktail

Marmalade Mocktail

Did you know that Marmalade was created in Scotland as a delicious breakfast preserve in the 18th century. Traditionally used as a spread on toast you will never have to wait for breakfast again because we have turned sweet and tangy jam into a simple syrup. Marmalade simple syrup will delight your palate with its citrus charm and creamy texture. I am ever so fond of this one in my mocktails.

Create a funky combination in your cocktail glass that is surprisingly enjoyable to drink. Mixing citrus with a splash of salty brine and soda will be a big hit with your taste buds. An interesting alternative to just syrup and soda. Make it even tastier by pouring into a chilled martini glass.

Ingredients:

  • 6o ml ruby red grapefruit juice
  • 10 ml lemon juice
  • 10 ml lime juice
  • 10 ml sweet gherkin brine
  • 15 ml marmalade simple syrup
  • ice
  • splash soda water
  • slice of grapefruit for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Add ice juices, brine, syrup and ice into a cocktail shaker.
  2. Shake for 10 seconds.
  3. Double strain into a Collins or depending on the occasion a chilled Martini glass.
  4. Top with a splash of soda
  5. Add grapefruit wheels as garnish.
