Vintage Brandy Cocktail

Vintage Brandy Cocktail

Brandy is often sipped neat as an after-dinner drink, and it is also used in many classic cocktails. Cognac is a specific type of barrel-aged brandy made in the Cognac region of France and provides a distinctive warm full-bodied brandy flavour. By using Cognac in the cocktail mix you add an alcoholic punch with oak nuances reminiscent of whisky mixed with sweet wine. Next add some French bubbles and this vintage cocktail is almost complete

For the brandy lovers this champagne cocktail is a showstopper. When the Champagne is flowing, and you want to end the night gracefully with a vintage cocktail

Here’s How You Should Be Drinking It

Rule 1: Stick it in a large open glass
Because taste is like, 75% smell, the layers of aromatic flavours that make up good French Cognac deserve to be smelled properly. Which means put away that champagne flute and use a wide brimmed champagne saucer.

Rule 2: Mix it in a cocktail
In most classic cocktails, champagne is really just used to add a bit of effervescence. But with Cognac the champagne takes on a more central role of adding acidity push back on the citrus simple syrup and bitters.
