As many good things have been created from a happy accident so too was the Sbagliato. This particular recipe came out of me wanting to recreate the look and taste of this delicious cocktail mistake with ordinary bar ingredients. It was a challenge to substitute red wine for gin and bitter orange syrup and aromatic bitters for the Campari. I had fun playing around with my favourite Pinot and now you have a DIY version of the Botanikos born Sbagliato. This cocktail has a ruby red hue and soft bitter taste of a classic Negroni. Adding prosecco bubbles for the Italian twist. While lighter on the liquor it is no less delicious and is a perfect way to enjoy some bitter bubbles.
