If I could write poetry this would be an ode to my love of tomatoes, pickled gherkins, salty condiments and martini cocktails. Seasoning the cocktail with artisan cocktail salt is the master stroke for garnishing this martini and completes the sweet sour salty trilogy with some bitters and tomatoes for the umami. My kinda delicious!
Ingredients:
- 45ml Vodka (Smilov)
- 15ml Dry Vermouth (Dolin)
- 15ml Pickle juice (Wicked)
- 15 ml Lemon juice
- 7ml (barspoon) Rosemary Simple Syrup
- 3 Cherry tomatoes
- 3 dashes of Aromatic Bitters (Fee Brothers)
- 4 ice blocks
- Bloody Mary Salt (The Peel Thing)
Instructions:
- Put cherry tomatoes at the bottom of a cocktail shaker and muddle (crush) to liquify
- Add lemon juice, pickle juice, rosemary syrup, vermouth, vodka and ice to cocktail shaker
- Shake for 60 seconds to mix ingredients, form a froth, dilute and chill the cocktail
- Double strain drink into a martini glass
- Garnish with a pinch of Bloody Mary Salt over the foam.
