Introducing three tasty drink recipes mixed with our Indi Blue sorry Indi Bleu simple syrup. We hope you have fun turning your drinks from blue to magenta. Experience the science behind colour changes which indicate the level of acidity or pH of the drink.

Say what!! Ok lets start off slow and build the story around the colour Blue. I like alliteration so blue beefeater sounded about right to create some colourful and delicious cocktail drinks. All that is required is the blue Indi simple syrup, beefeater gin, plus a couple of standard mixers and a glass to watch the show.

A little history before we begin. Beefeater is the brand name of one of the world’s best selling and most iconic London gins, due in part to the 24 hour maceration (steeping and dissolving of botanicals) before being distilled into a flavoured spirit. Beefeater is among a small handful of gin distilleries which essentially defined the “London Dry” flavor profile which is the one I love to drink.

The name of this iconic gin is taken from the Beefeaters, Henry VII’s personal guards who were named ‘Beefeaters’ because they were permitted to eat as much beef as they wanted from the King’s table. His son Henry VIII decreed that they would guard the Tower permanently thus Beefeaters became guards in the Tower of London and protected the famous Crown Jewels. Nowadays, Beefeaters are used as tour guides and have become an attraction in their own right because of their colourful uniforms and unique traditions.

Time to put blue colour into an original gin nightcap, traditional gin and tonic and gin sour.
