Lemon Drop Martini

The lemon drop is one of the best vodka martinis and a highlight of modern cocktail menus. Created by San Francisco bartender Norman Jay Hobday in the 1970s, it became so popular that it inspired a number of ready-to-drink variations. However, the recipe is very easy and there’s no need for a pre-mix—the fresh taste is far better than any bottled lemon drop can offer. This is a vodka cocktail which is made fresh shaken and served in an ice cold martini glass or red wine glass.

  1. Half fill cocktail shaker with ice blocks
  2. Pour liquid ingredients over ice and shake for 30 seconds
  3. Place martini glass in fridge (30 min) or freezer (5 min)
  4. Double strain martini into frosty cold glass
  5. Add lemon garnish
  6. Serve immediately
  7. Option to add a short straw
