Original Gin Fizz

The “Original” Gin

This gin fizz recipe is made with Dutch Gin the “original gin” the traditional way in a cocktail shaker. Bols Genever has a rich history dating back centuries. Recognised as the original gin it pre dates the London Dry style that most people are familiar with today.

Bols Genever

Genever is crafted using a blend of malt wine, neutral grain spirits, and botanicals. The malt wine is made from a combination of cereals, including barley, corn, and rye. This gives the gin its distinctive malty and grainy flavor profile. The botanicals used in Bols Genever include juniper berries, coriander seeds, angelica root, and various other herbs and spices.

Genever is available in different expressions, including young and old variations, which refer to the aging process. Young Genever or Jonge is unaged or lightly aged, while Old Genever is aged in oak barrels, resulting in a more complex and mellow flavor

Classic Gin Cockatils
