Red Velvet Latte

Its wet cold dark and officially red velvet season at our house. Oh, how we love to indulge in velvety chocolate sweetness during the cold winter months.

This wickedly delicious coffee drink is the perfect indulgent treat that can also double as an afternoon pick me up. It’s a delightful twist on a classic red velvet hot chocolate and it’s a crowd pleaser for sure!

This latte is super addictive it’s hard to stop at just one cup! Not overly sweet with a luscious rich flavour and texture. A winner in my family. You’ll see what I mean when you try it!

When your kids, your boss or life is getting you down, just sit in a quiet room and sip yourself into a glorious red velvet coma. Serenity has never tasted so good!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 tbsp Hibiscus simple syrup
  • 3 oz (6 squares) 70% dark chocolate chunks
  • 1/4 tsp of natural vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup fresh brewed coffee

Variations

Instructions:

  1. Place milk and chocolate in medium saucepan.
  2. Bring to a simmer on medium heat
  3. Stir to melt chocolate
  4. Remove from heat
  5. Add freshly brewed coffee
  6. Stir in Hibiscus simple syrup and vanilla
  7. Use a French press to pump some air into mix
  8. Serve warm and slightly frothy
