Rosemary Negroni

Tasting new flavour combinations is a sure-fire way to feel like you are on holidays!

So I am in WA for the week enjoying the company of my youngest daughter Isobel and her precious toddler Nova. With a small child in tow much of our time together has been spent gabbing over coffee taking long walks with the stroller and delighting the little one with adventure playgrounds and ice cream.

Precious mementos I will take back with me from this trip are the Minnie mouse heart stickers Nova put on the back of my phone, some brick red “conglomerate” rock samples I picked up on a beach walk to show in my Geology class next term and this recipe for a rosemary negroni shared by a bartender in Dunsborough:

Ingredients:

  • 30ml London Dry Gin
  • 30 ml Campari
  • 30 ml Prosecco
  • 7 ml (bar spoon) Rosemary Simple Syrup
  • 4-6 ice cubes
  • orange wheel (fresh or dehydrated)

Instructions:

  1. Add ice to a short glass.
  2. Pour liquids over ice.
  3. Stir to mix and chill ingredients.
  4. Garnish with a orange wheel.
