The sidecar is the wintery sister cocktail to the Margarita. It has exactly the same types of ingredients at the same proportions except it swaps the tequila and lime for brandy and lemon. Three ingredients can be somewhat boring for most people and the ratio a bit tart, so we have added some simple syrup to hold everything in balance and create more harmony between the ingredients. We have cut down the amount of Cointreau and added in some simple syrup to soften the orange flavour. Feel free to tinker with the proportions 2:1:1 to suit your taste.
