Vanilla Red Velvet Syrup

A delectible home made syrup that can be used to enhance various dessserts and beverages. Drizzle over pancakes, waffles, cake or ice cream for a delightful twist, You can mix it into hot chocolate, coffee or milkshakes to add a burst of flavour. Get creative and enjoy the sweet velvety goodness of this Vanilla Red Velvet Syrup.

Instructions:

  1. Combine the cocoa powder and hot water in a mixing jug
  2. Stir mixture until powder has dissolved
  3. Add vanilla extract and mix into a smooth paste
  4. Add hibiscus syrup slowly stirring well to combine
  5. Strain ingredients through a fine mesh tea strainer into a bottle
  6. Use a recycled Botanikos syrup bottle or jar with an air tight lid
  7. Store the Vanilla Red Velvet syrup in the refridgerator
  8. Use the vanilla red velvet syrup to mix the delicious cocktail below

Vanilla and Red Velvet  Cocktail:

Ingredients:

  • 60 ml Vodka
  • 45 ml Vanilla Red Velvet Syrup
  • 15 ml Creme de Cacao
  • 30 ml Cream
  • Hibiscus sugar
  • ice

Instructions:

  1. Add all ingredients into a cocktail shaker (except hibiscus sugar)
  2. Shake vigourosouly for 30 seconds
  3. Rim a chilled martini glass with hibiscus sugar (optional)
  4. Strain into the martini glass
  5. Sip on this decadent sweet cocktail
