sorbet cocktail

Vodka Sorbet Martini

A sweet semi frozen fruit drink for those who like something special. Sorbet is the main flavouring ingredient which is essentially made of a simple sugar syrup, infused with fruit puree or juice that is then chilled and churned. For this recipe you will need to make your own fruit juice sorbet first using our  suggested flavour combinations that are delicious in this cocktail recipe. Best homemade flavours to start you off with are  lavender/strawberry, thyme/blackberry and hibiscus/pomegranate.

Freeze the sorbet for 4-6 hours before mixing up your vodka sorbet cocktail.  This recipe is great for one or for scaling up when you are with friends. Make bulk cocktails by using the scaling ratio below and whizzing ingredients in a blender.

For those of you who are ready to mix this cocktail the ratio is 2:1 (sorbet to vodka) so one drink would be 125g (1/2 cup) scoop of sorbet and approx. 60ml shot of vodka however personally I pull back on the vodka. A 45ml shot which is still strong enough to enjoy the taste of vodka. If you buy the sorbet then you will need to mix 15 ml syrup with 1/2 cup sorbet and your choice 45-60ml of vodka.
