While the winter months are typically associated with cozy drinks and warm beverages, dry July gives us the perfect excuse to indulge in some refreshing shrub concoctions. From fruity blueberry to festive ginger lets add a delightful twist the traditional Christmas cheer. So grab your favourite glassware garnish it with a touch of winter spice and get ready to sip and savour three original shrub mocktails.
Blueberry Fizz
Fill a glass with ice then pour 1-2 tablespoons (50ml) of the blueberry shrub over the ice. Top with sparkling water or club soda and gently stir. Garnish the drink with blueberries and mint.
Ginger Pop
In a cocktail shaker add some ice 45ml ginger shrub 30ml pineapple juice 30ml orange juice 15ml lemon juice 2 drops Angostura bitters (optional) and shake until the flavours are mixed. Fill a glass with ice and pour the mixture into the glass. Top with sparkling water or ginger ale and stir to combine. Garnish with a lemon twist or dehydrated lemon wheel.
Cinnamon Cheer
In a cocktail shaker add some ice 60ml cinnamon shrub, 120ml apple cider, 15ml lemon juice, 15ml chocola simple syrup and shake together for 10-15 seconds. Strain mixture into a glass filled with ice. Garnish with a cinnamon stick and slices of apple.
