Grenadine Bar Syrup Hack

Pomegranates are on the menu this week. Round, red and firm to the touch, these fruits resemble apples but belong to the berry family. This desert grown fruit features a white inner flesh that’s densely packed with crunchy juicy edible seeds called arils. The arils are little packages of ruby red juiciness. Used in salads and a key ingredient in many middle eastern dishes when crushed into Pomegranate juice the sour flavour is put to good use as bar syrup called grenadine.

Grenadine is a commonly used bar staple because it can create colourful red drinks while balancing out tart or acidic flavours in cocktails. Traditionally made from pomegranate arils, sugar and lemon juice many of the commercial versions use high fructose corn syrup, red food colouring and artificial pomegranate-flavouring.

Our grenadine syrup only has two ingredients which are pomegranate juice and Hibiscus simple syrup, creating the perfect balance of tart and sweet. So much better than the store-bought grenadine allowing your family to avoid the high-fructose corn syrup and red food colouring

It’s so easy!! Just mix together 2 parts simple syrup and 1 part pomegranate juice. to make a sweet, bright red syrup that’s very similar to the real thing and tastes delicious.

Try this Grenadine syrup bar hack to make classic drinks like a Tequila Sunrise cocktail, Singapore Sling, Shirley Temple or just add a splash to a glass of beer. Delicious!
